Learn how a telescope works and observe the sky independently with your own telescope.

No prior knowledge is necessary to take this course. This course is particularly suitable for anyone who wants to buy a telescope but doesn't know which model is right for them. The telescopes are provided by Astro Events.

<span data-metadata="">1h interactive introduction
In the introduction, we explain the basics of celestial mechanics, as well as the differences between the most common types of telescope, such as the Newton or the Schmidt-Cassegrain. We will also show you what types of objects you can observe in the sky.

<span data-metadata="">1 hour to set up the telescope
In small groups of 2-3 people per telescope, you will set up a telescope independently and learn how to orientate the mount towards the North Star. You will also learn about the various accessories.

At the start of the observation session, you will receive an introduction to the constellations. Then we'll show you how to find objects in the sky and how to choose the right magnification. During the event, you will be able to try out different types and diameters of telescopes.
